Samuel J. Smith is a thought leader, speaker and award winning innovator on event technology. In 2011, BizBash Magazine named Sam one of the most innovative people in the events industry. In 2010, Sam co-founded Event Camp Twin Cities an innovation lab for events that rewrote the rules for attendee engagement in hybrid events. Sam judges the annual EIBTM Worldwide Event Technology Watch Awards in Barcelona, Spain.
In 2010, Sam founded Interactive Meeting Technology to serve an unmet market need with his unique passion for emerging interactive technology. The company has since served clients across Europe and the United States. Previously, he held both technical as well as marketing and sales positions at Ford Motor Company, 3M, GT Urological and Shockfish SA.
Sam is a member of Meeting Professionals International (MPI), International Special Events Society (ISES), Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) and Minnesota Interactive Marketing Association (MIMA). In addition, Sam holds an MBA from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Indiana University’s Kelly School of Business.
